Greenwich Hospital was delighted to welcome the First Sea Lord General Sir Gwyn Jenkins KCB OBE ADC RM, to Greenwich Hospital to discuss our commitment to supporting serving and former Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Fleet Auxiliary personnel, and their families.
General Sir Gwyn met with Deirdre Mills, Director of Greenwich Hospital, and members of the senior leadership team to discuss shared priorities, the evolving needs of the Royal Navy community, and to explore how Greenwich Hospital manages its endowment.
This year, Greenwich Hospital has a £10m grants budget, and we discussed ways to maximise impact, ensuring funding goes where it is most needed.
The meeting also explored Greenwich Hospital's role in strengthening collaboration across the Naval charity sector. With the Royal Navy continuing to adapt to meet future challenges, partnership working remains vital to ensuring serving and former personnel, and their families, receive coordinated, effective support throughout their lives.
