Go Learn 90%
  • About the Go Learn Programme

This fully funded programme offers high‑quality, personalised online tutoring, tailored to the unique challenges faced by Royal Navy children, such as frequent moves, disrupted schooling, and changing educational systems.

Go Learn is open to secondary school aged students from serving Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Fleet Auxiliary families, age 14+. Support is available at key academic stages:

    • GCSEs and A Levels
    • Scottish Nationals and Highers
    • Specialist progression support for students with additional needs from age 11+

The pilot will run for an initial 18‑month period, helping us understand the demand and long‑term benefits to families.

  • What the Go Learn Programme offers

Students who join the Go Learn pilot receive up to 16 hours of free one-to-one tutoring per academic year, either focused on a single subject or spread across core subjects. Sessions can be scheduled after school, at weekends, during school holidays — and even while posted overseas.

    • Up to 16 hours of free one‑to‑one tutoring per academic year, either for one subject or spread across the core subjects specified
    • Weekly personalised sessions in English, Maths and Science
    • Flexible scheduling—after school, at weekends, during school holidays, and even while posted overseas
    • Specialist support for young people with additional needs (SEND, ALN, ASN) at any secondary school stage
    • Access to The NCC’s established triage system, supported by a dedicated Triage Caseworker (Education) to ensure each student receives appropriate academic and pastoral support
