What we are exploring...
Connected Communities is a partnership between Greenwich Hospital and the Andrew Simpson Foundation, exploring how existing facilities across the UK can be developed into vibrant sport, wellbeing and community spaces for Royal Navy personnel, their families and surrounding communities.
A new initiative to strengthen wellbeing, resilience, and community for the Royal Navy.
- Creating safe and welcoming spaces for people and families to connect
- Strengthening partnerships between the Royal Navy and civilian communities
- Increasing access to sport, outdoor activity and wellbeing programmes
-
The project aims to enhance the role that sport, outdoor activity and community spaces play in supporting wellbeing, resilience and the retention of Royal Navy personnel.
Service families experience frequent relocations, separation and unique challenges. Access to welcoming, high-quality facilities and programmes can strengthen community connections and support physical and mental wellbeing.
